Bread substitutes are not easy to come by on a keto or low carb diet. Sometimes you may feel like you have few options when narrowing down a food group.
Most options for sale tend to be heavily processed and full of chemicals ... never a good option. That is why the best option will always be the one made at home!
Today I bring you this recipe that I love every time I go on a ketogenic diet.
This recipe has only 3 basic ingredients. The spices are to taste and you can omit them.
Preparation time: 15 min. Cooking time: 18-20 min. Total time: 35 min.
✔️ 1 small or 1/2 large cauliflower
✔️ 3 / 4 cup (approx. 40g) shredded cheddar cheese
✔️ 1 egg 🥚
✔️ Pepper, salt and onion powder for taste
➖ Preheat oven to 425°F or 215°C
➖ Grill the cauliflower and microwave on high for 6-8 min
➖ Drain with gauze or paper towels until mixture is dry
➖ In a bowl add the cauliflower, cheese, egg and spices
➖ Parchment paper liner a baking sheet
➖ Shape mixture into toasts on prepared baking sheet
➖Bake for 18-20 min.
Add your favorite ingredients! I used it as toast with avocado and fried eggs.
